Danny’s clarification: As stated in this article, I had learned 80 songs by the time I had been
playing for about a year, but the songs I learned weren’t polished. I went to Uncle Ozzie after I
had been playing for about 4-5 months. At this point, I was playing about 12 songs, and was
pretty absorbed in Raymond Kane’s music. As Uncle Ozzie set me up and taught me more songs,
I continued to learn from recordings and video tapes of Led Ka‘apana and Raymond Kane, in
addition to my lessons.
